The Ground Systems Engineer role

GEOINT Systems Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) role as a Subject Matter Expert of a dynamic team providing Systems Engineering support to the government stakeholder. Below are a few of the responsibilities of a Ground Systems Engineer. 

  • Performs technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total system 

  • Develops architectures, CONOPS, Interfaces, with significant domain knowledge in mission technical capabilities and performance 

  • Provide system end to end closure of requirements baseline for ground systems

  • Follow readiness processes for Integration and Closure (I&C)

  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the enterprise, including action tracking and follow-up

  • Provide support to system integration of new initiatives for expanded mission capabilities

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly

  • Requires BS/BA with demonstrated experience in IT /Ground Systems/Space systems

  • Experience with large acquisition systems engineering efforts, methods, and processes

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and energetic environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong business acumen; ability to relate professionally inside the work environment

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with team lead to prioritize tasks

  • Strong business acumen; ability to relate professionally inside the work environment

  • Experience with Intelligence Community (IC) customer or Department of Defense (DoD)

  • Knowledge of IT and Ground systems

  • Expertise in mission technical capabilities and system performance analysis and assessment
