Radar Systems Engineering focuses on the accuracy of radar systems. As a Radar Systems Engineer, your responsibilities concentrate on the technical aspects of a radar system, including creating algorithms for accuracy and testing sensor instrument devices.

Radar Systems Engineer Role

Radar System Engineer will be a part of a dynamic team that will drive developing programs/projects within GED. The candidate will be knowledgeable of the highest demand Radar applications and the many derivative products. With the Radar Systems Engineer role, the applicant will be primarily responsible for working with world-renowned Radar engineers, Software Developers, Solution Architects, and Systems Engineers to deliver end-to-end mission solutions for a CLOUD-based Radar processing architecture(s). The current system utilizes the AWS Cloud. Radar systems knowledge includes experience with SAR, FSG, ATR, and MTI capabilities. The candidate will also ensure the capabilities meet enterprise validation and verification specifications. 

  • Evaluates and consults on the proposed architectures for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), FSG, MTI, and ATR through the TCPED process

  • Provide a total systems perspective, including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware/software components

  • Participate in all aspects/phases of development of cloud-based architecture development

  • Plans, coordinates, and documents solutions to total systems using internally created and/or commercially available off-the-shelf products and cloud-based technologies

  • Plans and coordinates data management practices to treat and handle Radar data as a resource

  • Work and integrate across Radar Platforms/data sources and associated systems

  • Work collaboratively with a variety of customer, including technical, managerial, financial, and administrative, to implement sustainable technical, organizational, and logistical strategies

  • Identify, review, and assess new and existing system architecture to support CONOPS to reduce product delivery timeline and time to market

  • Apply contemporary technologies such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, HPC, and cloud-native principles to engineering solutions

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly

  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or related scientific or technical discipline with 8 - 10 yrs of experience, or a Master's with 6 - 8 yrs of experience.

  • Experience in government or industry integration systems that process SAR data

  • Familiar with modern data science techniques, machine learning, and/or computer vision technologies

  • Prior experience, or current interest, with Cloud Services

  • Previous NRO, NGA, and/or other relevant work experience

  • Previous IC or DoD program/project work experience

  • Experience with TCPED process

  • Experience in Agile & Scrum practices and implementations
